OMAHA (DTN) -- Here are the Top 5 things the DTN Newsroom is tracking for the week of Feb. 8. Watch for coverage of these and other topics throughout the week on our subscription platforms as well as on www.dtnpf.com.

1. February WASDE: Tuesday sees the February USDA Crop Production and World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) and Cotton Ginnings reports released. The report is out at 11 a.m., and our "Flash" story will be on our digital platforms minutes later. We'll follow with updates and commentary throughout the morning. 2. Join us in Louisville: This week we'll be at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky, and regular attendees will want to note a couple changes. Our traditional weather and markets outlooks will be 10 a.m. EST each day. In previous years, there was an 8:30 a.m. session on Thursday, but that has been moved to 10. Our location has also changed; we'll be in Room SB102. That's in the same general hallway in the South Wing, just closer to the main central lobby where all the food booths are. We'll feature the latest weather and markets forecasts from DTN Ag Meteorologist John Baranick and DTN Lead Analyst Rhett Montgomery. Rhett will have freshly updated information from Tuesday's WASDE report. You'll also get the chance to hear about new things coming from DTN. We'll also have reports on new equipment and technology being released at the show.

3. Cold East, warmer elsewhere: A larger clipper is moving through the Great Lakes during the weekend, bringing another round of cold air to the east. Western areas will be warmer. That warmer air will win out during the week, opening the door for a few larger storm systems for mid-February. This could ease some drought areas. Central and southern plains will see above-normal temps.

4. Rain in central Brazil: Expected rains this week will still help late-developing soybeans in Brazil. However, bean harvest is increasing and the switchover to safrinha (second-crop) corn will accelerate for the rest of February. Overall soil moisture is still low and long-range forecasts continue to show below-normal rainfall for central Brazil. In Argentina, the past week's rainfall was heavier than expected, an indication the weather pattern is getting more active. That could lead to more waves of rain this week. Crop conditions fell again in recent reports, but the trend may start to reverse if these rains continue.

5. Reports due this week: Monday at 10 a.m., Grain Inspections, the Survey of Consumer Expectations and Wholesale Trade are out. Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. Employment Cost Index fourth quarter, Import Price Index December, U.S. Retail Sales for December is expected. At 9 a.m. we'll see Business Inventories numbers for November. At 11 a.m., the Cotton Ginnings, and the February USDA Crop Production and WASDE report (see item No. 1 above) are released. Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. we'll have Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Core CPI. At 9:30 a.m. comes EIA's Weekly Petroleum Status including Ethanol production and stocks. At 1 p.m., the Monthly Federal Budget and at 2 p.m., Broiler Hatchery. Thursday at 7:30 a.m., Grain Export Sales and Initial Jobless Claims. At 9 a.m. Existing Home Sales. At 10:30 a.m., Weekly Economic Index. At 2 p.m., Slaughter Weekly and Turkey Hatchery. Friday at 2 p.m. we'll get the Cost of Pollination and Farms and Land in Farms report. At 2:30 p.m. is CFTC's Commitment of Traders report.
